WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HAVE FOR NIGERIANS YET UNBORN?

Zamfara State Government of Nigeria executed Memorandum of Understanding/Agreement with BSM Int’nal Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited Consortium for the acquisition, development and establishment of a 200,000BPD BSM Petroleum Refinery and Hydrocarbon Park Complex Gusau and other integrated projects, including Power Plant, Mobile Fuel Stations, Exploration, Aviation, strategic training, management, maintenance, insurance, re-insurance and other services with its headquarters located in Zamfara State Northern Nigeria without recourse to state funds.

BSM Consortium’s well conceived initiative of these project under the previous administration of His Excellency Alhaji Mahmuda Shinkafi (Dallatun Zamfara) aimed at improving the socio-economic development of the region by ensuring a sustainable revolving supply of refined petroleum products to the remote and hard to reach areas, whilst also providing jobs, employment and training opportunities for the teeming skilled and unskilled youths which engaged their hands and minds, as it is said that an idle mind is the devil’s workshop, would no doubt, have helped in curbing the menace we experience in the region today, had the projects been sustained by the incumbent administration of His Excellency Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari. The irony of BSM Project and Investments in the state is the non-acceptance and outright disregard for due-process by the current Governor who has chosen to trade the future of the people, youth and old alike all for selfish, political and religious sentiments. This same Governor, who ordered the demolition of such vital and economically viable project in the state, was accused of acquiring a large cache of arms and ammunitions illegally without permit from the authorities, all in a selfish bid to equip his local militia also known as Boko Haram, who have now become a continuous source of threat to the people of Zamfara State, Northern Region and Nigeria in general.

THE QUESTION IS:

Does the Zamfara State Governor His Excellency Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari have the moral justification to destroy BSM Petroleum Refinery Heliport Complex Gusau which was duly commissioned by the previous administration on the acknowledgement of Mr. President?

What is the Federal Government of Nigeria doing to checkmate the excesses of State Governors who feel they are not subject to or cannot be controlled by the Laws Governing the Federal Republic of Nigeria? What is the Federal Government of Nigeria doing to redress this gross act of injustice?

We need to cry out to the international community and world leaders to help us sanction this high handedness of our corrupt leaders by showing them the way true democracy is practiced in civilized countries.
Were this to be in civilized democracies, the Zamfara State Governor would have resigned by now, as power is supposed to be used to alleviate and not to oppress the people.
The National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria should rise up against this injustice and dictatorship leadership style of the Zamfara State Governor His Excellency Abdulaziz Yari, knowing full well this has the capability of jeopardizing intending investors from patronizing our country, as a result of the negative perception this portends for Nigeria.

What are the youths of Zamfara and the entire youths of Nigeria doing about this?
Isn’t it high time we all stood up to fight against corruption and injustice that is gradually sweeping away the success and the brighter future of our generation and the generations yet un-born?

Together we stand, divided we fall!!!!!
